Sustainability in the ornamental horticulture sector

The demand for sustainable products continues to grow, with consumers demanding transparency about environmentally friendly and socially responsible production. Certifications highlight growers' commitment to sustainability, such as eco-friendly cultivation, good working conditions, and hygiene. In this way, growers meet high standards and contribute to a more sustainable future. Sustainability is not a trend, but an ongoing priority in the ornamental horticulture sector.

Innovation and sustainability go hand in hand

In addition to certifications, Fresco Flowers and its growers are actively involved in innovative sustainability projects. Since 2019, the use of cardboard has been reduced by 90%, and as of October 2024, it has been completely eliminated. We are also working on reducing plastic consumption, such as by using recycled flower film. These initiatives demonstrate that we go beyond just certifications: we aim for a tangible, positive impact on the environment. Together, we are building a future-proof and sustainable ornamental horticulture supply chain.
